Newborn Photography with Rachel and Jess

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting 12 week old Rachel for a newborn portrait session. I have known her Mum, Jess, for years so it was nice to be asked to do this (as well as a little nerve-wracking!). In spite of bringing my studio lights and background, we shot using only natural light from their patio doors and a silver reflector to fill in the shadows.

Thanks to their organza curtains and the overcast day, the light was beautifully diffused creating a lovely even, almost shadowless light and as you can see below, allowed me to get some stunning results.
